About RosterSpin
Hockey games built for people who can't stop building hockey teams.
RosterSpin is an independent collection of hockey games, challenges, puzzles and roster-building experiments — all built around the kinds of questions hockey fans already love arguing about.
It started with 82-0
RosterSpin started with one simple question:
Can you build an NHL team that goes 82-0?
The original 82-0 Hockey Challenge turns the viral hockey roster-building concept into a playable game. Spin an NHL team and decade, draft a player, fill your six-player roster and see how your team performs over a simulated season.
Players from different generations can end up on the same roster, creating the kinds of impossible hockey teams fans have debated forever.
Gretzky or Lemieux? Crosby or McDavid? Which goalie would you trust with a perfect season on the line?
Build your team and find out.
Built by a hockey fan
RosterSpin started as a side project built by a Canadian hockey fan who wanted to turn the viral 82-0 roster challenge into an actual playable game.
The idea was simple: instead of debating hypothetical rosters in a comment section, why not build one, simulate the season and see what happens?
Hockey fans started playing.
So I kept building.

As heard on Sportsnet 650
RosterSpin's 82-0 Hockey Challenge was featured on Sportsnet 650's Canucks Central, where the hosts tried building an 82-0 roster of their own.
Why 82-0?
No NHL team has ever completed a perfect regular season.
The NHL record for wins in a single season is 65, set by the 2022-23 Boston Bruins.
That's what makes 82-0 such an absurdly difficult benchmark — and such a fun one to chase.
RosterSpin asks the question hockey fans love arguing about:
What would it take to build a team that could win them all?
What's next
RosterSpin isn't finished.
New games, daily challenges and new ways to compete are being added regularly. The goal is simple: keep creating hockey games that are quick to understand, fun to replay and built around the way hockey fans already talk about the sport.
As hockey changes, RosterSpin will change with it — including the NHL's move to an 84-game regular-season schedule.
But 82-0 will always be where RosterSpin started.
